How do I find what I'm looking for?

   Our site offers a few different ways to help you find what you need:

You may browse by category using the category list on the left side of each page of our site.  Many of our categories contain more specialized subcategories.  When you click on a category, all of the products that fit into that category will be displayed (21 items at a time).  Once you are browsing a category, you can also browse its specific subcategories by clicking their links near the top of the category's pane. 

Or...

You may search our site using the search utility located in the upper left portion of the window.  If you have a part number, enter it in the search box (even partial part numbers).  You can search by keyword, or even brand name.

Or...

You may perform a more advanced search using our search link located in the navigation bar at the top of the page.  This search allows a more specific query based on multiple variables.  You may use this utility, but you probably won't need to get that technical.  

Or...

To get a more visual idea of the site's structure, you may browse the Site Map to help guide you to the page(s) or section(s) of this website which contain the information and products you seek.

Or...

You can click on the Products link at the top of the page or on the Complete Catalog link at the bottom of the page to see a list of categories and a list of brand names.  Click any link that appears on the page to see products in those groups.

I can't find what I need within this web site! What do I do?

   If you are unable to find what you need within our site, don't panic!  We may still be able to help.  Although we are constantly adding new items, our inventory is too large to be fully represented on our web site, so if you need an item not listed on the site, please call us at 1-866-635-1928 (M-F 8:30 to 5, MST).  

 

How do I place an order?

On-line ordering (with a credit card):

   The process in short:

  • Locate the item(s) you need
  • Enter the appropriate quantity in the quantity box for the item
  • Click the "Add to Cart" button next to the item
  • If you are finished shopping, Click "Check Out"
  • If you are a returning customer, enter your user name and password
  • If you are a new customer, enter your billing and shipment information
  • Click "Continue Checkout".
  • Verify your information and fill in requested payment information 
  • Click "Check Out" to submit your completed order

   Step-by-step:

  
To place an on-line credit card order first find the item(s) you are looking for within our web site.  Each item will have its own "quantity" box where you can enter the appropriate quantity for your order.  Below the quantity box is a button marked "Add to Cart".  Clicking the "Add to Cart" button adds that item to your virtual shopping cart.  To view the contents of your shopping cart or to make changes to the contents of your shopping cart, click on the "View Cart" button at the top of any of the pages in our site.

   If you have added the item(s) you need to your shopping cart and are ready to finish your order, click the "Check Out" button at the top of any page in our site.  At this point you will be given a chance to review the contents of your cart before proceeding.  Once you have determined that the proper items are in your cart, click "Checkout".

   You are now in a secure internet zone, appropriate for the transmission of credit card information.  Simply fill in the customer information on the form (including any special instructions) and click the "Complete Order" button.  That's it!  Your order has been submitted.  You will receive an automated confirmation at the email address you specified on the form.



How do I change the quantity of my order?

   If you wish to change the specified quantity of an item in your virtual shopping cart, don't worry -- it's easy!  Simply click on the "View Cart" button at the top of any page in our site.  You will be shown the contents of your cart along with price and quantity information.  Simply enter the updated quantity of any item in the appropriate box and then click "Modify" or "update".  You will then be shown a new screen indicating the update you've made.

What will the shipping charges be for my order?

   Shipping charges will vary depending on the items you order.  To determine what the charges will be, simply place the desired item(s) into your virtual shopping cart and click the "View Cart" button located at the top of any page on our site.  At this point customers are given an opportunity to review the items they've selected, along with price and shipping information.


When will I receive my order?

   Depending on an order's weight and value, one of three carriers will deliver your order:  currently we use the United States Postal Service for most light-weight orders, and either UPS Ground or Fedex Home Delivery for medium-weight and heavier parcels. Most in-stock orders are shipped within 24 to 36 hours of order placement (barring holidays and weekends).   Typically, packages shipped using these methods take between 3 and 5 business days to arrive at their destination.  Some orders (to Hawaii, Alaska, Etc.) are automatically shipped via United States Postal Service for reasons of cost and speed.   Our intent is to find the best balance of cost and speed for each individual order.  Expedited shipping is available, but costs are significant.

 

How do I track my order?

   Order tracking will depend on the method of shipment.  Packages shipped via U.S. Postal Service cannot be tracked, as the postal service does not currently offer that service.  Packages shipped via UPS, can be tracked using our UPS tracking utility.  You need two pieces of information to use this utility: your order ID number, and the package's destination zip code.  This information, along with a link to our tracking utility, will be included in your shipment notification email.  Packages shipped via Fedex Home Delivery can be tracked using the link that will be emailed (to the email address you provided when placing your order) automatically on the day of shipment when the shipping label is created for your package.

 

What is Nelson's return policy?

   First, before completing your order, please read all descriptions for your chosen items carefully and make sure that they are appropriate for your need. Here at Nelson's, we do our best to fill customer orders as quickly and accurately as possible.  Since orders are both placed and filled by people, errors occur on occasion.  If you receive the wrong item(s) due to an error on our part - or if an item is defective, please let us know within 30 days of purchase and we will arrange for return shipping and a full refund will be issued (including original shipping charges).  If, however, you wish to return an item for any other reason (perhaps a part or accessory was ordered in error, or perhaps the item is simply not to your liking), you may return the item(s) to our address below within 30 days of purchase for a refund of the item(s) purchase price(s).  You will be responsible for all (including return) shipping costs.

What if I want expedited shipping?

   At this time, due to unreasonable costs, we do not offer expedited shipping.  Currently we offer only UPS ground service.  For those customers in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, or those who have overseas military addresses, we offer US Priority Mail shipment.  

Do you offer international shipping?

   No.  Due to high costs, we are not offering shipment beyond U.S. borders at this time.

I've placed an order, but now I need to cancel it.  How do I do that?

   Any items placed in your shopping cart can be removed from the cart, provided you have not completed the ordering process.  To remove items from your cart, simply click "View Cart" and click the appropriate "Delete" button(s).  

   If you've placed your order and have received the automated email confirmation, but have not yet received a notice of shipment, and you'd like to cancel your order, please call us at 1-866-635-1928 (M-F, 8:30 to 5, MST).

   If you've placed your order and have received the automated email confirmation, and have received a notice of shipment, your order is already on its way and cannot be canceled.  You may refuse the package or return it to us for refund (product refunded only, no refunds for shipping).
