The Orange top battery has a safety circuit breaker inside which limits the battery to 40 amps, while the standard all-grey battery has a circuit breaker which limits at 30 amps. This important difference between these two batteries allows them to provide appropriate safety and riding performance to different vehicles. Using the wrong Power Wheels battery with the wrong Power Wheels vehicle could result in poor performance or even unsafe riding conditions. Make sure you are purchasing the correct battery. The orange top and all-grey Power Wheels batteries also have small differences in their electrical connectors, making it difficult to fit the wrong vehicle, though not impossible.
